Dr. Alexandra Sims is a licensed psychologist in the state of Louisiana and specializes in educational and psychological assessment of children and adolescents..  She is credentialed by the National Register of Health Service Psychologists.   

Dr. Sims moved to New Orleans in 2009. Prior to settling down in the city, Dr. Sims earned her bachelor's degree in Psychology and English at La Salle University and a Master's degree in Psychology from New York University.  She holds a Ph.D. in School Psychology from Tulane University, with a specialization in trauma-focused school psychology. While a student at Tulane, Dr. Sims was active in research, presenting original and collaborative research at local and national conferences. 

Dr. Sims served as the Director of Pupil Appraisal at Collegiate Academies for three years.  Currently, Dr. Sims is a full-time faculty member of Tulane University’s Department of Psychology and teaches undergraduate and graduate courses centering on child development, psychopathology, and assessment.  She also provides professional supervision for post-doctorate professionals seeking licensure and continues to work with local schools on the completion of special education evaluations.

Finally, Dr. Sims is the mother of three young children.  Having navigated the educational landscape in New Orleans, Dr. Sims is eager to offer families a balanced professional and personal assessment experience.
